Fr. Niall O'Leary was the new Associate Pastor and he and Fr. McNamara lived in two of the classrooms; they also used the hall kitchen for their meals and took baths at parishioner's homes. In 1960, the first sisters from an order called Religiosas del Amor de Dios (Sisters of the Love of God) arrived at St. Martha's and they became an instrumental factor in the growth and development of our children. In 1960, the school consisted of grades one through four with one hundred sixty students. The philosophy of St. Martha's School is based on the words of Vatican II's declaration on Christian Education: "Education should pave the way to brotherly association with other peoples, so that unity and peace on earth may be promoted. For a true education aims at formation of the human person with respect to his/her ultimate goal...."
